Cartoonist Rich Tennant’s humorous 1995 take on E.E. Cummings’ use of “lowercaseness“, incorrectly refers to the famous American poet, author and painter as “e.e. cummings“.
Cummings used a typewriter not a computer and his poems, with unusual spacing and punctuation, were incredibly hard for typesetters to set to his satisfaction.

I remembered this cartoon from when it was first published, and I was delighted to find it online. But it seems to me that it was from earlier than 1995, maybe the early 1980s, and the equipment would seem to support that – impact printer and Apple II-like device.
